چکیده

Receivers for long-code systems are for computational reasons usually based on simple matched-filter techniques, and hence suffer frommultiaccess interference. Decorrelating RAKE andMMSE receivers do not have this problem but have not been widely studied due to the apparent complexity of the inversion of a large code matrix. Tong, van der Veen Dewilde, and Sung (IEEE Tr. Signal Proc., 2003) derived a blind decorrelating RAKE receiver (DRR) and channel estimation algorithm for long-code CDMA systems, and showed how it can be efficiently implemented. In this paper, we continue on that work. We propose both single-user and multiuser blind source-channel estimation algorithms by making use of an iterative estimation scheme initialized by the DRR. Simulation results show significant improvement, even in heavily loaded systems. Moreover, with an implementation based on time-varying system theory, the proposed algorithm can be implemented efficiently at a cost similar to the RAKE.

Nonlinear Multiuser Receiver for Optimized Chaos-Based DS-CDMA Systems

Chaos based communications have drawn increasing attention over the past years. Chaotic signals are derived from non-linear dynamic systems. They are aperiodic, broadband and deterministic signals that appear random in the time domain. Because of these properties, chaotic signals have been proposed to generate spreading sequences for wide-band secure communication recently. Like conventional DS...

Adaptive Transmitter Precoding for Time Division Duplex CDMA in Fading Multipath Channels: Strategy and Analysis

The recently developed blind adaptive techniques for multiuser detection in code division multiple access (CDMA) systems offer an attractive compromise of performance and complexity. However, the desire to further reduce complexity at the mobile unit has led to the investigation of techniques that move signal processing from the mobile unit to the base station. In this paper, we investigate tra...

Blind turbo multiuser detection for long-code uplink CDMA with unknown interferences

We consider the problem of demodulating the multiuser symbols in an uplink long-code CDMA system in the presence of unknown out-cell multiple-access interference and narrowband interference. A novel blind Bayesian multiuser detector is derived based on the Bayesian inference of all unknown quantities. The Gibbs sampler, a Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) procedure, is then used for Bayesian comp...

Adaptive group-blind multiuser detection based on a new subspace tracking algorithm

Recently, Wang and Høst-Madsen developed group-blind multiuser detectors for use in code-division multiple-access (CDMA) uplink environments in which the base station receiver has the knowledge of the spreading sequences of all the users within the cell, but not that of the users from other cells. Yu and Høst-Madsen later developed an adaptive version of this detector for synchronous CDMA chann...

Blind Adaptive Space–Time Multiuser Detection With Multiple Transmitter and Receiver Antennas

The demand for performance and capacity in cellular systems has generated a great deal of interest in the development of advanced signal processing techniques to optimize the use of system resources. In particular, much recent work has been done on space–time processing in which multiple transmit/receive antennas are used in conjunction with coding to exploit spatial diversity. In this paper, w...
